In the early years when AIDS first emerged, there was fear and limited knowledge about the virus. Over the decades since, effective treatments and prevention strategies have changed our perception, but stigma remains. One place actively commemorating World AIDS Day today is Kingston. It’s the centre of an art exhibition there called Hotline: Posters from the Trellis HIV & Community Care Collection. Dr Santiago Perez will speak there. They are the Chair of the Division of Infectious Diseases at Kingston Health Sciences Centre and an Assistant Professor at Queen’s University.
