Exhibition

Xenolithic

26 June–31 August 2025

Kingston-based artist Nicholas Crombach invites us to peel back layers of time, material and memory in Xenolithic, an exhibition of new large-scale sculptural works that blend imagination and concepts of archeology and myth to question what lies beneath the surface.

For each sculpture, Crombach designs a complex scaffolding structure that supports playful views into cross-sections of the work. Think futuristic prototypes for archeological museum displays.

Agnes celebrates the opening of  Xenolithic with a public reception on 26 June, 6:30–8:30 pm.

The reception and exhibition takes place at Agnes’s temporary exhibition space, located at the Rideau Building (207 Rideau St).

Nicolas Crombach graduated from OCAD University in 2012. He has exhibited widely across Canada and internationally in the United Kingdom and Germany, and produced ambitious public artworks in Kingston, Woodstock and Niagara Falls.
