Frances K. Smith Lecture in Canadian Art

Catalyzing Change with Bruce Kuwabara

Bruce Kuwabara, the architect responsible for Agnes Reimagined, is this year’s Frances K. Smith Lecturer in Canadian Art. Now streaming on Digital Agnes, Kuwabara presents several recent projects that explore themes of art and community and the insights gained while working on Agnes Reimagined, our special new home.

Bruce Kuwabara is a founding partner of KPMB Architects. In 2006, he was awarded the Royal Architectural Institute of Canada Gold Medal and in 2012 he was invested as an Officer of the Order of Canada for shaping “our built landscape in lasting ways.” Bruce was lead design partner on 14 of KPMB’s 18 Governor General’s Award-winning projects.

Spray painting for teens with EronOne

May + June 2025

EronOne is one of the super cool graffiti artists behind AGNES’s monumental 2022  artwork Transformations, the graffiti project which covered Agnes’s former facades and changed the face of Queen’s University campus.

In May and June, EronOne delivers two sessions of Aerosol Art: An Introduction to Spray Paint. Participants develop designs in their sketchbooks before learning safe and effective spray-painting methods that bring their vision to life. These workshops culminate in the creation of a collaborative public mural. No prior experience is necessary and all supplies are included.

Workshops will take place at EronOne’s studio Wherehouse.

This workshop is for teen participants. Spots are limited so register now! Bursary applications are available.

BONUS: Are you excited about Spring Reverb’s concert lineup? Agnes has great news! Signing up for EronOne’s Intro to Aerosol Painting by 9 May automatically enters you in a draw to win tickets to select Spring Reverb YGK shows! Register for either May or June’s class to be eligible.
