Make Art Like It’s 1957

Friday 13 October 2017
1–4 pm

Hands-on art-making activities in the André Biéler Studio—for artists and non-artists alike—inspired by the first courses offered at the Agnes.

We offer hands-on art-making activities in the André Biéler Studio—for artists and non-artists alike—inspired by the first courses offered at the Agnes. In 1957, the Agnes Etherington Art Centre opened to the public and was the site of art and art history classes at Queen’s. In celebration of Homecoming and Agnes’s 60th Anniversary, we invite you to try your hand at serigraphy (screen-printing), one of the first courses offered. Join us in the André Biéler Studio for a fun and memorable experience creating a custom Queen’s inspired print. All levels of curiosity are welcome to drop-in.

Other events that Celebrate 60 include:
Shaken, Not Stirred: 60th Anniversary Gala

Homecoming and Anniversary Weekend Features
A Tale of Two Houses
100 Years of Art
Distinguished Lecturer: Eric Jan Sluijter
