Explore vibrant colour, expressive brushwork, and the beauty of the outdoors in this 8-session acrylic painting class led by local artist Lisa Leskien.

Blending elements of impressionism and pop art, Lisa will guide participants in capturing the energy of landscapes, inspired by those just beyond our city’s limits. Through a series of four small studies on canvas, you’ll build confidence and technique before painting a larger landscape of your choice. Whether you’re new to acrylics or looking to loosen up your style, this course offers a bold and joyful approach to landscape painting.

No experience is necessary—just bring your creativity! All materials are provided.

Artist Biography

Lisa Leskien is an artist on the loose. She specializes in stylized, representational oil paintings, as well as linocut and woodcut prints that reflect the wonder she sees in everyday life. Using bold mark-making, thick “juicy” paint, and highly exaggerated colours, her pieces are full of life and movement. Lisa’s enthusiasm for the creative process is infectious—something she shares not only through her art, but also as an art instructor at Agnes, The Hive Studio, ArtNoise, and The Senior’s Centre in Kingston. She teaches a range of classes including beginner and intermediate painting, landscape and still life painting, printmaking, crochet, and arts workshops. Her work can be found on Instagram at @lisa.on.the.loose
