Join artists Luis Jacob and Otis Tamasauskas for a conversation about collaboration and experimentation through printmaking. By looking closely at Jacob’s Stonebreakers series (2012), which he made as a Koerner Artist-in-Residence at Queen’s, their discussion touches on meaning-making, materiality, and the processes and politics of print.

Luis Jacob is a Peruvian-born Toronto-based artist and curator, who studied semiotics and philosophy at the University of Toronto. His multidisciplinary practice destabilizes conventions of viewing and invites collisions of meanings.

Professor Emeritus and Master Printer Otis Tamasauskas was born in Terschenreuth Germany in a displaced persons camp in 1947, following his parents’ flight from Lithuania after the Russian communist occupation. His work brings together found artifacts, integrating objects such as pelts, clumps of horsehair, and wood panels with his prints to explore interior landscapes.
