Ladies Sasquatch Femmes sasquatchs
2005-2009 2005-2009

“Ladies Sasquatch” is a room-size installation consisting of six gigantic sasquatch and sixteen smaller sculptures, the familiars (or pinkys), presented on a stage/platform measuring 10 feet x 10 feet with a fiberglass bonfire with “soft campfire rocks” located and at the centre of the installation. The elements of the installation are constructed with applique borg, found textiles and taxidermy supplies. They are influenced by photographs and super 8 video found in Playboy magazines along with other folkloric and poploric references from the 1970s and the bodies of real-life fat activists, many of whom are fellow artists and friends. The six giantess sculptures are lesbian feminist sasquatch.
