Featuring Canta Arya and Jacquelyn N. Coutré
Canta Arya School for Strings is eastern Ontario’s leading school for Suzuki string education. Canta Arya Strings, our premier ensemble, has performed this year with the Performance Ensemble of Canada in China, with Orchestra Kingston, and with the members of the National Arts Centre Orchestra at The Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts for Culture Days.
Bader Curator and Researcher of European Art Dr Jacquelyn N. Coutré will talk about a recent acquisition, Herman Verelst’s Portrait of an Unknown Woman of 1688. Early investigations resulted in an important re-attribution, and ongoing research has inspired an exciting and sometimes challenging journey to identify the sitter.

We are kicking off this season’s INSIDE AGNES series with performances from The Volunteer Committee of the Kingston Symphony Association Music Award winners: Sophia Battel, Alice Kim, Victoria Lui, Avery Marcella, Felix Melanson, and Leonid Nediak. Artists have drawn inspiration from the heavens for hundreds of years.
