In this portrait painting class, students will develop a self-portrait over the course of four sessions.
Working from direct observation participants will be introduced to sight measuring, the Verdaccio
Technique of underpainting, colour mixing and proper brush use. No prior artistic skills or background are required.

INSTRUCTOR BIOGRAPHY
Natasha Jabre is a representational painter whose work highlights the strangeness of everyday situations using symbolism and surreal lighting. She received her BFA from Concordia University in Montreal and her MFA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in North Dartmouth, MA. Her artwork has recently been exhibited in Canada and the United States, as well as internationally in Berlin, Italy, Lebanon and Spain.
