The operation serves as the primary subject of the present engraving. Tobias gently touches his father’s face with his right hand, while Anna and the angel keep a close eye on the procedure. Tobit crosses his hands, ready to accept the outcome of his son’s treatment. At the right edge of the scene, a woman, likely Sarah, attends to a bowl while glancing at the operation. Beyond the primary event, Tobias and his family witness another miracle. After fulfilling his mission, Azarias reveals to the family that he is a divine messenger—the Archangel Raphael—sent to earth by God and flies away. Shocked at first, Tobit and his kindred rejoice at the wonderful works of the Lord.
