Julia Popsin-Gomes graduated from Faculdade de Tecnologia SENAC-RS in Brazil and her background is in the fashion industry. Mostly working at under-measure dress Ateliers, she gained extensive experience as a pattern maker and seamstress, particularly with delicate fabrics. After relocating to Kingston, she discovered Agnes and the amazing Collection of Canadian Dress. She began volunteering and worked closely with Marissa Monette, Agnes’s Conservation Technician.
As Museum Technician Assistant, she has contributed to the digitalization project of the historical dress and textile collection, conservation work and treatment for rehousing.
