In this video, Dr Jonathan Bikker, Research Curator at the Rijksmuseum (Amsterdam) discusses Rembrandt’s Portrait of a Man with Arms Akimbo (1658). In it, Dr Bikker dives into the importance of this painting, created at a difficult time in Rembrandt’s life, and provides a possible identification of the portrait’s sitter.
