Storytelling in art
(grades 1–3)

Storytelling has been used for a very long time in artwork to share ideas and explain how things have happened, much like in Hendrik Goudt’s, The Mocking of Ceres. The short video and accompanying lesson plan are filled with imaginative activities that draw on storytelling.

Developed and recorded by Carolyn Kane, Agnes Student Docent. This video is accompanied by a lesson plan geared towards elementary school students grades 1–3.

AGNES Learns is a digital resource for children and families. Artworks from the Agnes collection inspire fun ways to explore, understand and get creative.
