Richard Ibghy and Marilou Lemmens join Vancouver-based artist, writer and curator, Lorna Brown for a wide-ranging conversation on their practice, and the act of including collective contributions within the exhibition process. Lorna Brown is a Vancouver-based visual artist, curator, writer, educator and editor. She has exhibited her work internationally since 1984 and is a founding member of Other Sights for Artists’ Projects, a collective of artists, architects and curators presenting projects that consider the varying conditions of public places and public life. Brown is the Associate Director/Curator of UBC Belkin Art Gallery and was the Director/Curator of Artspeak Gallery from 1999 to 2004. She has taught at Emily Carr University of Art and Design and Simon Fraser University. Her recent curatorial projects include Digital Natives a public artwork co-curated with Clint Burnham, commissioned by the City of Vancouver; and Institutions by Artists, an international project involving a three-day conference, print and online publishing, original research and commissioned artworks.
