Shawl belonged to Ann Jane (McClure) Hill (25/12/1841-28/3/1938) who married James Beyea Hill (7/1/42-10-10/21/27) on 14 July 1869 at Lakeside, King's County, New Brunswick. James Hill was of loyalist descent through hi great grand parents, James Beyea and Martha Curry Sherwood and his grandmother, Mary Smith. Lt. James Beyea of the Louisburg Grenadiers, was from Winchester County, New York. The Sherwoods were also from New York State. Ann Jane McClure was of Scottish descent, reared in Canada.
