Tobias and the Angel in a Landscape (Tobias catching the fish) Tobie et l'ange dans un paysage (Tobie attrapant le poisson)
n.d. date inconnue

Here the Flemish landscapist Pieter Stevens sets the scene of Tobias’s capture of the fish beside a stream running between monumental buildings. The architecture and uneven terrain speak of Bohemia, where Stevens had been working for the court of Emperor Rudolph II since 1594, while continuing to supply Antwerp publishers with designs for prints. The figures, at the lower left, may have been added by the publisher, the little-known Marcus Sadeler (1614–1650/70), a member of the Antwerp printing dynasty.
