Do Art. Be Wonderful. With Juvenis Festival and Francisco Corbett

Thursday 6 May 2021
1–3 pm

Take part in a Juvenis Festival skill builder workshop. Workshops are free and open to anyone 30 and under.

In this workshop, Kingston artist Francisco Corbett will reinforce the importance of doing art to be free. Expanding on the ideas of doing and not overthinking youth will focus on freedom through creative expression. Francisco will share his own experience of creating art for freedom and says “art can be an avenue for freedom and everyone should try art in any form”.

Kingston’s youth-led, not-for-profit, Juvenis Festival engages youth 30 and under throughout the Kingston community. The Juvenis Festival generates opportunities for local young artists to showcase their work, as well as educational programming that will allow them to further develop their skills in the arts.

Participants must pick up a free art kit containing:
black marker, pastels of varying colours, pencil or pen, 10 pieces of thick white paper

Pickup is at the Spire (82 Sydenham street) Friday 30 April and Thursday 6 May from 10 am–5 pm. If you cannot make this time, please email Kate at contact@bluecanoetheatrical.ca for alternative arrangements.

This program is made possible through the generous support of the Ontario Arts Council, an agency of the Government of Ontario and the Iva Speers Fund for Art Education.

Francisco Corbett is a painter, performance artist and director of an art label titled FOR WORLD in which he produces large scale runway shows, concept shows, and art galleries.
