Heads, Hands and Feet

Heads, hands and feet are often considered the most challenging parts of the human body to draw. In this class you will learn basic anatomy, foreshortening and techniques for creating depth and volume to create a strong foundation in drawing these parts from life, with artist Gaetanne Lavoie. Materials are not provided.

Required materials: 18” x 24” soft drawing paper, Strathmore or the equivalent. 18” x 24” newsprint pad. Charcoal pencils of varying softness. Exacto knife. Soft grain sandpaper. Kneedable eraser. Shammy. Boards and clips available in the studio.

INSTRUCTOR BIOGRAPHY
Gaetanne Lavoie was raised in a family that celebrated individuality and following your bliss. She received her BFA from York University in Toronto, an MFA from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco and a second MFA from the New York Academy of Art in New York City. Lavoie recently moved back to Canada and has exhibited her paintings nationally and internationally.
