Designed for teens ages 13–17, this course is an introduction to portrait painting. Employing accurate measuring techniques, students will render the form, structure and proportions of the human head in space and will learn how to develop a complete acrylic painting.This class will address basic concerns in representational painting including the identification of structural masses, human anatomy, positive/negative shapes, and colour. For all levels of experience.
Natasha Jabre is a representational painter whose work highlights the strangeness of everyday situations using symbolism and surreal lighting. She received her BFA from Concordia University in Montreal and her MFA from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in North Dartmouth, MA. Her artwork has recently been exhibited in Canada and the United States, as well as internationally in Berlin, Italy, Lebanon and Spain.
