Give your old sweatshirts a fresh look in this creative workshop led by artist Hill Werth. Learn to reshape and reinforce seams, patch with style, and personalize with dyes, paints, stencils, and permanent markers. Perfect for all skill levels, this session lets you upcycle and design garments that reflect your unique style.

We encourage participants to bring a sweatshirt that they’d like to alter. Additional garments will be available at the workshop. Please note, this workshop is free, however participants need a library card to register. Get your Kingston Frontenac Public Library card here!

Agnes Etherington Art Centre’s series “The Studio” is a place to meet innovative practicing artists from Kingston and across Canada, hear about their work and artistic practice and explore a creative project together. Kingston Frontenac Public Library’s series “Make It Happen” is a place for ages 14 and up to learn useful hands-on skills taught by community experts.

Hill Werth is an internationally recognized trans non-binary mixed media artist and activist using their art and voice to spread visibility, awareness, and representation. Using various mediums, their creations are the result of emotions pouring out, transcending from personal experiences and endeavors, forming patterned layers of balance and composition.

This program is made possible through the Iva Speers Fund for Art Education and The Friends of the Kingston Frontenac Library.
