Local artists develop their practices over six weeks with access to mentors Richard Ibghy and Marilou Lemmens, and Amanda White.
Ciara Phillips’ Workshop (2010-ongoing), presented at the Agnes last fall, was a magnet for visitors and for diverse groups that participated in collective creation in the gallery space. This image captures the 2016 Your Own Grad School group in action. Photo: Kathleen Reichelt
In 2013, artists Cliff Eyland and Dr Jeanne Randolph initiated this artist-led project at Modern Fuel Artist-Run Centre. In 2017, the project’s 5th year, the Agnes and Modern Fuel are thrilled to announce a new collaborative version. A selection of eight artist participants will develop their practices through discussion with curators and other artists, studio visits with mentors, and focused studio work. Over the six-week period, they will have access to Modern Fuel’s New Media Workspace or the Agnes’s André Biéler Studio during regular operating hours, and will take part in open workshops with artist mentors Richard Ibghy, Marilou Lemmens and Amanda White. As the artists begin to create work in the studio, drop in to see what is developing.
Join us at the Agnes in celebrating a final “non-graduation” ceremony on Friday 20 October, 6:30 pm, where artists will reflect on their Y.O.G.S. experiences and projects. Refreshments provided.
