This book features seven works from 1979 and 1980 done on paper and/or masonite behind plexiglas by Knudsen. Structure and color are preeminent concerns in Knudsen’s work, who is the renovator who laid bare the structure of the brick wall. His art comes from reductivist philosophy that pares away matter and experience to summary immutable first premises. The featured exhibitions are mixed media using acrylic and brush, graphite, paper and masonite as support and some collage techniques. The format of the works is the diptych, which are held together by the transference of energy, charged across small divide of their perimeters.
