This exhibition is another in a series of re-appraisals of the work of Canadian artists who have been outside the main stream of popular concern, whether that has been oriented to the Group of Seven or to abstract art in its many manifestations. Lillian Freiman’s drawings and paintings deserve more public attention in Canada than they have yet received and we hope that this exhibition and publication will help to correct the situation.
