This publication and the two exhibitions it embraces - Machine Life at the Agnes Etherington Art Centre in Kingston and Norm's Robots at the Koffler Gallery in Toronto - offer an oportunity to investigate the work of a generation of electronic artists engaged with the creation of robotic works, the aesthetics of interactivity that inform their practices, and, in particular, the formative influence of Norman T. White.
