This publication celebrates the twenty-five years of the Agnes Etherington Art Centre as a public gallery that aims to teach, present exhibitions, and accumulate a Permanent Collection of significant artworks worthy of sharing to the public and for conservation. These pieces brought together from various public art galleries across Canada reflects the common origin and role of custodial institutions  and art museums. Each work in the exhibition, in many ways, embodies the collection policy of each of the gallery which owns it. Thus, the works suggest the growth and expansion of the museum activity in Canada.
