AGNES’s Demo-lution PARTY: (Not) Just Another Brick in the Wall
YES! I am so there, BUT just to do fun art things, no food
YES! I am coming, AND I want to add my name to the food ticket waitlist
Registration is free for both and required.
We are unable to accommodate dietary restrictions.
WORD TO THE WISE: If you’d like to receive a brick, you must become a member before the party. You do not need a membership to register for a free food ticket or to simply attend the free event, but you do need a membership to get a brick. BTW: Memberships have other perks AND we have several price levels.
In summer of 2022, artists Oriah Scott, EronOne, HONE, HUNGR, AJ Little and Emily May Rose (+ invited guests) graffiti’d AGNES’s facades.
Building AGNES’s street cred while celebrating submerged cultural histories of Kingston, this glorious and beloved artwork entitled Transformations will now be demolished as construction begins for Agnes Reimagined.
Come to our Demo-lution Party to mark this moment!
Agnes members take home a brick as a memento!
Not yet a member? Become one before the party to make sure you take home a piece of AGNES.
Bring the family, as AGNES’S nomadic, all-ages artmaking workshop Creation Station, will be on-site making a themed artwork with Transformations artist, EronOne! Interdisciplinary artist Alejandro Arauz will also be on-site helping artmakers print their own custom t-shirts. All are welcome to participate in both activities.
They are the reason we are gathering; the Demo-lution Party is a disguise to celebrate their amazingness. If for no other reason, you should come to this event because it is a rare opportunity to meet, IRL, this elusive group of graffiti artists from Toronto, Kingston, and Montreal. And you should follow them because they make a lot of incredible artworks, all over the world.

@therealjerkebago grilled some doubles in Agnes’s old digs for Yellow House’s Black Student Welcome Party last year and we fell in love. His expertise extends beyond crafting delectable dishes to setting the perfect vibe in any environment.
@alejandroarauz is an interdisciplinary artist exploring issues of identity, diaspora and transplantation through the vernacular of print media, performance and video. The People’s Saloon is Agnes’s artistic platform of socially-engaged artistic activations in public spaces at various Kingston sites that illuminate hidden cultural histories of this place.
Creation Station is a free, family-friendly art making machine run by Agnes and spearheaded by our amazing Program Coordinator, Charlotte Gagnier. It’s facilitated by our incredible docents, who build hands-on activities inspired by the artists we work with, often involving them in activities that inspire young people to make art. This Creation Station takes its cue from Transformations and Agnes Reimagined, so it will be awesome.
